Wanted is too bloody, too over the top, too silly, and too special effects driven. It's also excessively entertaining and fun.

If the graphic-novel-style hyperviolence of Sin City or 300 is your thing, go ahead and knock yourself out. Or let Angelina do it for you ... It feels so much nicer that way.

In normal cinematic terms, it could easily be dismissed as gun porn, boyish nonsense or action overkill. Fact is, in the realms of badass cinema, Wanted is damn near untouchable.

Wanted never takes itself too seriously and is fully aware of its frailties. This is fast and furious popcorn munching fodder, which doesn't waste time dabbling in meaningful theorising or contemplation.

Audience Reviews for Wanted

The premise is ridiculous as are the action sequences. But what else can you expect from a mindless action summer popcorn movie?

Also, why not make the main character British or Scottish instead of enduring McAvoy's shoddy American accent?

Wanted is superb all in due to its nonstop action sequences, vivid violent nature and ensemble (Jolie, McAvoy, Freeman). The film may not be a satisfying plot, but it does well with the humor, excitement and eventual twists throughout. 4.5/5

This is an action movie about a group of assassins. Interesting plot. Great cast. James' American accent takes a while to get used to. The scenes with his overbearing boss were very funny. The train crash scene had great effects. However, the loom, curved bullets and healing baths were very far fetched.
